One of the biggest mistakes some people make is trying to please everybody.  They want to be liked and respected so when called upon to do something, they don’t hesitate to jump right in with both feet whether or not they can actually handle the task.

Here’s the deal:  you can’t be all things to all people so instead of trying to please everybody–just do what you know you can do and forget about the rest.  The worst mistake you can make is to say “yes” and then fail to do what you promised or you don’t perform up to the standard of the person asking for help.

Focus on what you know you can do well so you don’t develop a mess of being a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none.
